One request can carry several different measures.
Most precision failures begin before calculation: two different things receive the same name.
- 01Specialist role observation
- An advertisement matched to a disclosed bid, tender, proposal, pursuit, framework, work-winning or directly adjacent role family. It is not automatically one post, one hire or one person.
- 02Named role register
- A versioned collection of title forms grouped by the custody carried in a pursuit. It is a search and interpretation aid, not an official occupation code.
- 03Official vacancies
- The ONS Vacancy Survey’s published total. It is statistically defined and never added to online-advert counts.
- 04Workforce jobs
- An official filled-jobs measure used as regional context, not as a substitute for advertised demand.
- 05Source profile
- Public career guidance describing a role’s capabilities, tasks, routes, hours, environment, progression and guidance pay range.
- 06Practice matrix
- A versioned editorial model joining twelve bid responsibilities to phases and handoffs. It is not a census, job taxonomy or professional standard.
- 07Published pay guidance
- A source profile’s stated range. It is not live advertised pay, final negotiated pay or a universal market rate.
- 08Advertised pulse
- Permitted provider observations collected through disclosed specialist search routes. Overlapping route counts are never added into a total-vacancy claim.

Retain
Keep the last valid field and its evidence date; never publish interruption as a numerical value.

Each source retains its own definition, rights, attribution, retention rule and public output. A public endpoint is never treated as permission to mirror everything it contains.

Adzuna supplies the permitted advertised-role field. ONS and National Careers Service material is reused under the Open Government Licence except where otherwise stated. Specialist adverts, wider labour context, source profiles, guidance ranges and the practice matrix remain labelled as different evidence types.
RETENTION LAYERS
The field survives a source interruption without pretending time stood still.
Freshness is attached to each layer. A new page-build date does not replace the evidence date.
The source workbook is retained privately by source period and SHA-256 digest so the published calculation remains reproducible.
Structured public facts and the exact source URL are cached. Full pages are not mirrored into the public site.
Full descriptions and direct contact details are not published. Structured provider observations remain governed by source-specific rights.
The aggregate field, source state, method version and boundaries are preserved. A material method correction remains recorded.
A missing source value stays missing. It is not silently converted into a numerical value.
The last valid official edition remains visible with its real period and retrieval time; an interruption cannot erase the field.

CORRECTIONS AND CHALLENGE
A retained edition can be corrected without pretending the earlier method never existed.
The current release replaces an incomplete method-v1 public field with the populated official-data method. The earlier file remains privately preserved as a revision record; subsequent material changes require a visible method version.
